The Mountain Community of Vallecamonica (BS) is working with the financial support of Fondazione Cariplo, for the implementation and development of the first Cultural District of Lombardy, with the aim of promoting local development processes, from the value of ’important archaeological, historical and artistic heritage in the area.
Vallecamonica therefore presents itself as the largest group of European rock art, and the intervention provided fits into the overall project in place for its exploitation, in line with the UNESCO Site Management Plan, prepared by the Heritage Office archaeological Lombardy with the assistance of local authorities.
In this context, the Cultural District Vallecamonica, in collaboration with the Institutional Co-ordination Group for the management of UNESCO Site No 94, is organizing this "experimental design workshops for the use of inclusive rock art heritage of UNESCO Site Vallecamonica No 94 ".
Within the various initiatives promoted and developed by the Cultural District Vallecamonica, there is a specific action that provides innovative and experimental activities to facilitate universal access to the wealth of rock engravings of Vallecamonica, first recognized in the List of the Italian World Heritage Site by Unesco.
Unesco Site No 94 "Rock Art of Vallecamonica" includes more than 300 thousand figures carved on the rock, spread over several sites in the area and valued with seven archaeological parks, two of which are of national importance.

The experimental design workshop - sponsored by the Cultural District Vallecamonica and Institutional Coordination Group of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Rock Art of Vallecamonica," with organizational responsibility of the Agency of Cultural Tourism Head Bridge, will be residential in nature and right place at Capo di Ponte (BS), at the Citadel Culture, home of the Cultural District and the Center for prehistoric Studies Camuno, from 4 to 11 September 2011.
The Scientific Committee will select, in its final and unappealable discretion to recognize a total of € 1800.00 monetary award to the best team.
